Barbara Wingo, Allied ASID, UDCP
Designer Barb Wingo joined Harrell Design + Build after working at traditional residential design firms. Having experienced design and construction being conducted separately; Barb appreciates the Design + Build model’s collaborative team efforts. “It makes perfect sense to have design and construction resources working together as a team from the start of a project. I know my design for each client remodel will be functional as well as beautiful.”
In 2017, after having worked in investing, fundraising, and technology, Barb took stock of what she really wanted to do in life and became a full-time interior design student at Cañada College. She earned certifications in Interior Design and Kitchen/Bath Design and was awarded the Henry Adams Student Designer of the Year in 2019. Barb also has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Barb has a passion and talent for artfully selecting materials and finishes. Whether it’s tile, paint, flooring, or kitchen and bathroom fixtures, she creates cohesive looks that reflect each client’s personal style. She likes to bring a little bit of the unexpected to every space, elevating the design and ensuring that it’s unique.
“There are so many great products and materials available to homeowners now. It can be overwhelming to narrow down what you like and find what works best in your environment. That’s where a skilled designer can help guide you to practical and stylish solutions,” reflects Barb.
Fun Fact:
Barb is active in her local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), serving on various committees. She is also an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). Outside of work, Barb enjoys entertaining, spending time with family and friends pets, and photography — a hobby she now shares with her husband and son.
